IUPAC for alkane rules?

ok imagine this is a heptane(7C).

2nd carbon from the left there is 1 methyl.

3rd carbon from right there are 2 ethyl.

how should i no the carbon? from left to right, or right to left?

should be from right to left right?

    The rules say that branching at the lowest no. of carbon atom from either tend should be considered first. So in this case you will start numbering from left to right. So it will be 2-methyl, 5,5-diethyl heptane. Another rule also says that you should use alphabetical order. So it can also be written as 5,5'-diethyl-2-methyl heptane. I prefer the first order though.
