would you forgive the killer of your son enough to adopt him as your new son?

a woman was reported to have fully forgiven the killer of her son to the point where she now considers the killer her son. she said she visited him in jail and hugged him, and when she hugged him all the hate evaporated and she realized she had fully forgiven him and loved him.

is this going beyond Jesus's teaching?

I would adopt them and let them live with me, that way I knew where they slept. Then, every night, before they went to bed, I would take a HUGE dump under their sheets. Imagine having to clean someone elses crap off your YOUR sheets every night for years. That is even worse than prison time!

Forgiveness and trust are two different things........I could never trust that person......it would show my son disrespect to embrace my son's killer as my own son......no I could not do this

Nope, I wouldn't even want to.

The whole 'turn the other cheek' thing is not meant to be taken literally.

I may forgive him, but I wouldn't adopt him, no. That woman is better than me...I couldn't, and wouldn't do it.

No it is Jesus's teaching at its best. "Love your enemies".
