Well, it depends. Are you doing this frequently, or just this once? If it's only because you have to be gone somewhere, than it'll be fine: but preferably, you should hire someone (whether a professional or just a neighbor) to pop in and take her on a walk so she isn't alone for twelve hours straight. On the other hand, it's unfair for your dog to be alone for that long on a regular basis.

If it's absolutely necessary, and you still want to keep your corgi, look into dog-sitting services. You might be able to board her there for the day, or for most of the day. However, if this isn't financially feasible for you, the best option would be to rehome her. It isn't fair to expect her to stay for twelve hours alone at home regularly - imagine if you had to do that!

well, more information is needed to give you a real answer. How old is the dog? Is it house trained? Are you doing this just once or is this going to be an every day occurrence? If the dog is a puppy(under 6 months or so), then no, you can't leave it alone for 12 hours. They won't be able to hold their pee that long. If its an adult, and its just once, he'll be fine. But if your leaving it alone every day for 12 hours. Bad idea. Dog will be a nut once you let it out. Dogs aren't meant to be cooped up for 12 hours a day.

Maybe leave your corgi at a family or friends house or take the pup to doggy daycare. A pup that lacks socialisation and food isn't going to be the healthiest and happiest dog in the future.

Yes-if you leave food and water and a couple of teats for him/her. Make sure you take him/her a walk before you go out so it doesn't make a mess in your house. Have you got a spare room or somthing that you don't use? If so put your dog in there and leave a window open for him. Nevertherless, you could get a friend/faminly member to come to yur house and just check on him/her. Make sre your not out for too long though be as quick as you can.

I would say thats a pretty long amount of time but as long as they have food and water and your not worried about accidents in the house they should be okay. If you are worried about accidents try a plastic crate, keeping in mind that there may be an accident in the crate as well, but would be easy to clean up. Make sure the crate is large enough for them to move around comfortably. And that they have food and water in their crate. Dont use a wire crate as if they try to escape its easy for them to get their jaw, teeth, paws and such caught in it. They would also feel safer in a plastic crate.

Should not be a problem if your dog is reliably housebroken and knows not to chew things, however this is not something that should be done on a regular basis. It will affect his temperament.

No and definitely NOT in a crate, that is cruel and you'll have a dog with all kinds of hang-ups, it is so unnatural.

if its only a one time thing then yes, but leave the tv on for her (animal planet or national geographic or something like that) and leave out lots of fresh water and dry food.

so much to clean up when you get home
