Why is having a sense of humor important when it comes to teaching?

It makes a relaxed environment, and the students will be more comfortable.
In my experience, having a funny teacher meant a fun, laidback class and I was willing to learn and do the work.
When a teacher had no humour, I wouldn't pay an ounce of attention and just counted down until it was over.Source(s): Personal Experience!
