Because progressives are not Fascists. Right-wing policies and philosophy are close to those of the Nazis.
The revisionism is entirely on your part. The hatred between left-wing political groups and the Fascists, including the Nazis, is a matter of historical record. Their philosophies and practices were greatly at odds.
As Otto Wels, the leader of the German left-wing SPD (the real socialists) said:
“The only connection between their revolution [the Nazis’ revolution] and Socialism has been confined until now to the attempt to destroy the Social Democratic Movement which has constituted the pillar of the Socialist body of thought for more than two generations, and will continue to do so in future.”
The Nazis put left-wing political leaders in concentration camps or murdered them outright. The Nazis put trade union leaders in concentration camps or murdered them outright.
The Nazis established a state church, the Protestant Reich Church or Reichskirche. The Nazis had been supported in their rise to power by the German Christians.
Hitler convinced the right-wing parties in Germany’s Reichstag to vote for giving him dictatorial powers. The left-wing Social Democratic Party was the only party that voted against him. The Communists had already been eliminated. The Social Democrats of course suffered for their vote.
Goebbels bragged that after one year of Nazi rule, they had “finally destroyed the Marxist nonsense that had tortured the German people for six decades, condemning them to political impotence.”
The Nazis took the hatred of minorities to the ultimate extreme. They preached a doctrine of the superiority of the “Master Aryan” race. The Nazis opposed women’s rights. The Nazis put homosexuals in concentration camps.
The Nazis glorified the military and undertook aggressive military actions by invading other countries which resulted in WW II.
The Nazis also favored the interests of big business. Some of the leaders of the biggest industrial concerns stood trial along with Nazi Party officials, after the war. The Nazis ruthlessly suppressed the rights of workers. There were no more strikes after the Nazis took control, much to the delight of business leaders. Hitler stated, "We don't have to nationalize the banks and factories. Instead we nationalized the people."
Hitler reassured capitalists in his “The Road to Resurgence” that
“Capitalists had worked their way to the top through their capacity, and on the basis of this selection they have the right to lead."
The Nazis also engaged in relentless anti-leftist, anti-pacifist, anti-minority propaganda.
The Nazis were definitely right-wingers.
If you had stated that the Nazis were left-wingers, in Germany while they were in power, you would have wound up in a concentration camp for that perceived insult.
Face the actual facts and form an opinion based on those, not on your imaginary view of history.
