Why is Alabama immigration law so heartless towards anchor babies?
Illegal immigrants can not get food stamps for their babies and/or children that were born in US. Under 14th Amendment, these children are citizens and deserve to be able to get access to food stamps.
On a side note, anchor children are denied state tuition in florida and they are fighting that.

There are Americans who've lived here since birth, along with their ancestors, many of them are out of work and can't get food stamps for their children, so why should illegal immigrates get them? Why are they having children in the first place if they can't afford to feed them? They shouldn't be on US soil period. It is a crime. I saw an article where illegals were selling food stamps for cash. Alabama is doing this because many there are living in poverty as it is, they can't afford to give everyone food stamps. This is the parents fault, not the fault of the US.They are criminals the minute they step foot on US soil, ''illegally'' They should be deported. This is coming out of our tax dollars which many have to stretch to feed ''our'' children, it only goes so far. We can't feed everyone.
How much are illegal immigrants costing all of us? ..http://www.illegalimmigrationstatistics.org/

If the food stamps are for the children, there should be some conditions or methods of enforcement to ensure the children (and only the children) are the beneficiaries of the food stamps. Without it, the government is simply rewarding people who have broken the law.

The law should deport the parents and when the child is 18 he can chooes to come back if he wants.

Deport the parents, then give the foster-parents the food stamps. Everybody wins that way.

Can you please post references supporting you claims?
thanks for the article. this helps me understand the situation and formulate an answer.
my take on this....illegal parents are raising children that they should not lawfully be able to raise in order to obtain food stamps. the parents should be deported with their children or the children should be properties of the state and put in foster care and give the foster parents the food stamps if they meet the requirements.

Because federal law isn't heartless enough.
Babies born to foreign nationals shouldn't be US citizens at all.
