Q. Of course, most Christians agree that these verses no longer apply,
but most Muslims agree the same is true for the verses in the Quran.
So why the double standard?
A. Because the Muslims do not have a definitive
juncture that is marked by the death of the Testator.
Hebrews 9v15-18 .... http://kjv.us/hebrews/9.htm
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means
of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first
testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of
the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise
it is of no strength at all while the testator lives. Whereupon neither the
first testament was dedicated without blood.
There are 613 Hebrew Laws that have a dual purpose of equivalent importance.
One purpose was to provide a culture for Jesus to
learn to be responsible, compassionate and loving.
The other was so that Jesus would obey those Laws
and become a .... *Sinless* .... sacrifice for .... *Sin*.
Both of these purposes were fulfilled so the Law accomplished what was intended.
The Mosaic-Hebrew-Law was in place for 1500 years and
deemed by God to be both necessary and for the Greater-Good.
Speaking of the Greater-Good let’s put things into perspective here .…
According to this web site 56 Billion people have lived between 2000BC to present.
They allowed 9.6 million between 2000BC and 1AD.
If we allow a conservative 9.6 million for the period between 4000BC and 2000BC
we have a total of 56.0096 billion for the period 4000BC (Creation) to present.
Although erroneously based on a population existing prior to
Creation (4004BC) here is a graph with similar information.....
Therefore 99.96% of the population have lived between Christ and now.
Jesus Christ's arrival was therefore subsequent to
serving the greater part of humanity and the Hebrew-Laws
made it possible (although not perfect see Romans 8v2,3).
Further prior to the Global-Flood the world had become
corrupt (see Gen 6v5) if they had not been wiped out there
would have been no Abraham, no Moses and certainly no
Christ since Noah also would have become corrupt.
Romans 8v2,3 ….. http://bible.cc/romans/8-3.htm
For the Law-of-the-Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through
the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of
sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
We live now by the Law-of-the-Spirit not the 613 Hebrew-Laws.
It should be noted that the 613 Hebrew-Laws were shortened to
only Four requirements in Acts 15v20 ( http://bit.ly/xlzZdz ) one
of which is sexual immorality and thus includes Homosexuality.
