Is there a correlation between atheism and obesity?

You know that website conservapedia? If you go the atheism page on there it seems to indicate such a correlation exists. That site is hilarious. It's like my funny or die.

No. Obesity is linked to where you live and how poor you are. The religious are disproportionately Southern, poor, hence-- obese.

To be safe, always believe the opposite of whatever Conservapedia tells you.

that's extremely no longer a valid stumble on uncomplicated methods to invite this question. This study has no longer something to do with atheism or any correlation between it an weight problems. " Very non secular -- faith is an significant area of each day life and church/synagogue/mosque attendance takes position a minimum of a week or very almost a week. This team constitutes 40 3.7% of the adult inhabitants. reasonably non secular -- All others who do no longer fall into the very non secular or nonreligious communities yet who gave valid responses on both faith questions. This team constitutes 26.6% of the adult inhabitants. Nonreligious -- faith isn't an significant area of each day life and church/synagogue/mosque attendance takes position seldom or in no way. This team constitutes 29.7% of the adult inhabitants. " word the Nonreligious == 29.7%, the position because the atheist inhabitants is extra like 7-15%. So in reality the deck is stacked because all the individuals who do exactly not provide a sh@t about something are grouped with the nonreligious that's call determination bias, understand bout' it. now to not teach the completed ingredient is in protecting with no longer something extra that peoples answer to questions, so it will be that the in reality ingredient it proves is the extra non secular you're, the extra probable you're to lie on a survey(no longer putting forward it does, basically that that's an selection) Oh and this line of reasoning will in no way, ever teach that god is something more suitable than your imaginary buddy. keep in concepts, a inebriated guy is extra probable to be at liberty than an sober guy, yet that express as hell does no longer recommend that's extra helpful to be inebriated.

Just took a look at the site. I thought it was an atheist site making fun of fundamentalism at first, it is so extremist I assumed it had to be a parody.

Like their obesity study. Survey people in the US only, then assume the result covers a global group. Says a lot about their lack of credibility.

Must run, want to go back to the site, the comedic value is enormous.

They aren't thin in the Bible belt. Maybe you should look before you shoot off your mouth:

"Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation released a study last week that reported on American girth – the obesity epidemic – which is nowhere heftier than in the South.

"The obesity epidemic continues to be most dramatic in the South, which includes nine of the 10 states with the highest adult obesity rates," read the report. "States in the Northeast and West tend to have lower rates. Mississippi maintained the highest adult obesity rate for the seventh year in a row, and Colorado has the lowest obesity rate and is the only state with a rate under 20 percent."

"Twelve states now have obesity rates above 30 percent," the report said. "Four years ago, only one state was above 30 percent."

Mississippi's rate was 34.4 percent, followed by Alabama (32.3 percent), West Virginia (32.2 percent), Tennessee (31.9 percent), Louisiana (31.6 percent), Kentucky (31.5 percent), Oklahoma (31.4 percent), South Carolina (30.9 percent), Arkansas (30.6 percent) and Michigan (30.5 percent).

No, why would you- Oh, right, you're asking about something conservapedia said.

Lets put it this way, the ones who write the articles for that website are usually only a few select types; trolls, crazy people, and people who never had any education. I suspect the guy who runs it is a mix of all three.

Conservapedia is not an informational site. It's a site promoting a particular agenda and the admins there will lie to do it.

Yes, but it's actually the other way around. The more religious you are, the more likely you are to be obese.
