Its not even a misdemeanor. What you have is a certified COPY of his birth certificate. The ORIGINAL is a file in the government records wherever he was born.

Unless you stole it from the hospital where he was born, you do not HAVE his birth certificate, you have a certified COPY of his birth certificate...the original documents (typically) remain filed at location of birth...
Is burning a copy a "felonious act"? Probably not...but if done deliberately it is certainly "harassment" and may even constitute assault depending on the circumstances...
