Why is beef jerky so addictive?

Sodium/salt

When I make it it has Soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and onion salt all of which have salt/sodium in them. There is also garlic powder which can make something taste like it has salt or more salt in it.

Salty stuff sells.
