movie about a paralyzed woman/people....?

Question

I'm looking for a movie, where a woman is in a wheel chair, paralyzed ; A man throws a tennis ball (may not be a tennis ball....but a an object that looked like a ball for sure) at her, through the shock of which she becomes normal again.... I'm sure its quite old, at least more than 5 years old.... the movie may not be based on paralyses, may be, the unique ways of Doctors/healing people..... thats all I remember .... thanks~!
