What is a DJ pad controller?

Question

I recently have been seeing YouTube videos of DJs using some sort of things that I think are called DJ pads and they use them for cue points... Can someone give me at least a little information?

There are some good DJ Controllers like the Traktor Kontrol S4 and S2 the have hot cue buttons for firing off samples, check it out here:
