Iceland is the leading country in the world for the use of renewable energy sources.
Iceland has the highest energy use per capita in the world, however they have a small population of less than 300,000 people.
Iceland uses geothermal and hydro power for all heating and electricity needs. Fossil fuels are only used in vehicles and fishing ships, all other sources come from renewable energy.
edit: I know many places in Canada use hydropower for heating.
