Physics homework help?

A catapult fires a stone of mass 0.04 vertically upwards.

If the stone has an initial kinetic energy of 48J, how high will it travel before it starts to fall back to the ground?

I don't want the answer i just want to know how to work it out.

    Required height H is given by

    0.04*9.81*H = 48 or H = 12.02 or 12 m

    initial velocity=root(2 k. E./m)

    V=u-gt as v=0 get value of t and use s=ut-.5gt2
