Pro: Less cancer=Less death Seriously, I'm looking at a pack right now and it says "Smoking Kills"

    No Secondhand smoke

Less nasty smell on peoples clothes or breath

Save a crap load of money

Not having stupid "cigarette breaks" during sports/ games/ events

Maybe Jog/Run for more then 5mins before crouching over

Con: People will most likely try smoking since its banned

You know eating raw pork is bad for you, so would you eat it? no.

Why would smoking be different, Cause there addicted. Which is why anyone would actually support smoking. Easy to defend something if your body is addicted to it.

Pros: You can dismiss one more freedom and end up getting finned for it, even jail. Oh yeah, and for the very few (say 10 out of 1000) that actually end up suffering medically at the old age of 70-90 from it, may or may not add a few years to their life -- but contrary to what most talk like, life is not eternal whether you smoke or not. For those that blame everyone around them for anything that goes wrong in their life (the ones that can't deal with life at all), it will make them feel good to be able to take away other peoples rights.

Cons: I guess it just really depends on the type of person. If one has a dire need to be told what to do all the time, I guess it's not so bad. For the free thinkers and self deciders on what they do with their life, it's a living hell.

Cons: First step towards government regulating our bodies and our life choices. Once they are allowed to completely ban cigarettes and alcohol, they can start banning other things they don't like. Or other things they feel is detrimental to people in our society. More violence, and deaths from banning it. The U.S tried banning alcohol in the 1920's, and this led to more crime, and gang warfare. And underground nightclubs, and speakeasies. And it forced regular law-abiding citizens to turn into criminals just because they wanted a drink. Advantages: Helps keep taxes down because in times of economic hardship, state governments raise taxes on cigarettes and alcohol before they raise income taxes.

Pros: Healthier people and more pleasant atmosphere for non-smokers.

Cons: loss of free choice. Do you really want the government banning you from everything that is bad for you? Pretty soon there will be a law against double cheese burgers and every television will have to interface with a treadmill and if you step off the treadmill the TV shuts off.
