What if someone pours water into your car gas tank?
What would happen to your car?

Well your car may have trouble running, run porely, have little power, or may not stall at all. If there was alot that was injected into the cylinder you could face hydro lock which is bad but HIGHLY unlikely unless it's poured into the intake manifold. You will have to drain your fuel if the amount put in is alot but there are some addatives that make the water evaporate but i would just go ahead and disconnect the return line to the engine and let it run till it's almost out and then fill it back up with fresh gas. Or you can locate your tank (idk since there is no model info) it may be under the rear seat and fun power to it through another car battery or battery charger and run the line into a gas can and it will pump the fuel into the can : ).

This depends on what all has been damaged by the water int he tank more than likely it did not hurt to much unless this was a diesel engine. What you need to do is drain the tank completely and replace the fuel filter then fill the tank with gas and add a bottle or two of gas line antifreeze / dryer and it should run again.

It will run bad or not at all or very sporadically quit. It depends on how much they poured? if it was a cup I would dump a bottle of SEAFOAM in the tank and drive it until the tank was almost empty. If it was a gallon i would get the tank pumped dry and then add fresh gas with some Seafoam and then drive it. Seafoam has something in it that takes the plugging effect out of water.Source(s): It works on small engines

it depends on how much water was poured in.
water will settle to the bottom of the tank.
I believe there is a substance you can add to the gas that's in the tank to get rid of the water.
go to an auto parts store and ask if they have such an item.
while you're there buy a gas cap with a lock.

Drain gas tank pure and simple (stupid to risk engine failure for a 50 dollar tank of gas). Then refill gas tank with a half a bottle of isophropal alcohol (cheap 1.00 per bottle). Then buy a locking gas cap.Source(s): been there. done that.

A little wont do anything, heck your intake takes water in from the air all the time its running. But a lot could really cause some damage other that not wanting to run right it could cause your carb to rust and your gas to separate making your gas clog parts up and such.

Dpending on the amount it will cause the engine to stall, won't start. You would have to take out tank to get the water out, and if enough water got in the fuel system may have to be flushed

It'll run terrible, depending upon the amount will dictate the fix, if it's just a little a bottle of HEAT will fit the bill if it was a lot then it will need to be drained.

how much water you talking about ? just a little bit then fuel injection cleaner will take care of it. leaving it go you can get frozen fuel lines and if it does start it will miss and jump around.
