Suppose my right hand offends me, and I cut it off, well, what if my left hand offends me as well?

I mean, what do I cut it off with?

    Have a sharpened machete affixed in an upright position to a stationary object such as a desk and then, at full speed, whack your wrist against it

    It's an extreme form of metaphor, showing how you need to distance yourself from things that guide you wrong.

    The language of the ancients was very poetic. Reading it literally does not help you.

    That or you can cut off the other offending appendage.

    That way you can keep both hands.

    Table saw...turn it on with your remaining hand, then push that remaining hand through it.
