Why is the list of Obama's 'Solyndras ' growing daily ?
Why is the list of Obama's ' Solyndras ' growing daily ?
There are now at least 3 major fat cat ' green 'companies that Obama touted and bailed out that have now declared bankruptcy to the tune of many billions of dollars of lost tax payer money that Obama has squandered ?
How can we trust Obama with our financial future if he can't even pick solvent businesses that are not ripe with corruption and bad business practices ?
Isn't it becoming more and more obvious that you have better odds with your money by investing in playing slots at Vegas than you do by investing your money with Obama who seemingly couldn't pick a winner if his life depended on it ?
tribecca - the way that Obama picks corrupt green companies that fail as a result of bad business practices and corruption it is a safe bet that we will never beat China
Actually it is the only sure bet with Obama at the helm/

I thought this was his mindset, spend the money and live large while you can, life is too short to waste away with no money. This is why Michelle and her crew frequent lavish holidays and her partayes'. Seems to me Mr. Obama is just spreading the fun to his posse in big business. What does the (improbable) 'going concern' have to do with anything?

China is beating us in this area because they are determined to become the world's supplier of green energy even if the technology has been developed here first. The Chinese government has poured more money into this area than we have.
We are losing this race. What I don't understand is why some in this country think that is a good thing.
Edit: I think you’re focusing on the negative and neglecting the big picture. The competition is keen. Companies fail. The Chinese government is heavily subsidizing their solar energy efforts. Blaming President Obama for the failure of a couple of companies is taking a very narrow view of what is going on. We're being driven out of the market and all you people can do is use this as an opportunity to criticize the President. Think with more vision towards the future.Source(s): http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/oct/07/... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic... http://www.businessweek.com/news/2011-04-04/china-...

Ugh. Every scumbag politician that has profited on the regulations they force down our throats should be removed from power and their profits returned to the people. Wouldn't it be nice if we could determine what products the American people are mandated to use and then have no rules against investing in the companies that are directly responsible for the goods and services that supply these mandated goods? Politicians suck. Follow the money on every deal they come up with and you'll see that every politician sucks. They may have entered politics with good intentions, but they stick around for the money.

I think I saw 30 billion in slush funds and payoffs to alternative energy pie in the sky bogus companies that couldn't get private investment for a reason! It doesn't work because traditional energy is to clean and abundant and therefor cheap. When traditional energy becomes expensive and rare then alternative energy investments will be made by the private sector. The government needs to get out of healthcare, energy, education, and our bedrooms amount other things.

Obama doesn't pick them or approve them, and the Solyndra loan process was started under Bush.
If all there we had was three companies going bankrupt during this recession we'd be in good shape.
There is also a list of companies that went bankrupt under Bush, in fact companies go bankrupt all the time, making conservative claims that business knows best look pretty foolish.

Obama was too busy rewarding his friends that he did not care about the U S Debt.

Which 3 companies?
Did you complain about the hundreds of banks that closed after they received TARP money?
I bet you are one of those people who think Obama was responsible for TARP.
Was one of these one of the three:
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) wrote to Energy Secretary Steven Chu in support of Aptera Motors, which makes a three-wheeled electric car. Aptera had applied for a loan from the same Department of Energy office that administers the loan guarantee that Solyndra received. “Awarding this opportunity to Aptera Motors will greatly assist a leading developer of electric vehicles in my district,” Mr. Issa wrote. The company never got the loan, according to the Department of Energy’s website.
The second-ranking Republican on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Rep. Dan Burton of Indiana, has also criticized the Solyndra loan guarantee. Mr. Burton wrote Energy Secretary Mr. Chu in October 2009 in support of Abound Solar, Inc., a solar manufacturer in Indiana that wanted the same type of loan guarantee Solyndra got. “We are encouraged by the increased emphasis on energy efficiency and on renewable sources of energy generation for the nation,” Mr. Burton and other members of Indiana’s congressional delegation said in the letter. The company received a $400 million taxpayer-backed loan guarantee in December.

Green just is not financially viable at this time no amount of government money will change that. It's costing the tax payers billions an all for nothing. It will come when it's cheaper than fossil fuels an making fossil fuels more expensive to reach that goal is just plain stupid.
