How can drug companies be persuaded to make 'orphan' drugs, putting people before profits?

These drugs, such as Fentanyl, the post-operative pain reliever, are not on exclusive patents and the greedy mega-corporations are not making them as they are not as profitable as other medications.

There are drug companies that produce 'orphan' drugs, but the these drugs don't generate much income. Pharmaceutical companies are like every other business they have to make money, You could ask the same question of any other business, why don't petro-chemical companies give their product away, it would help a lot of people.

    You are a good person.

You will found your own pharmaceutical company and give away your products -- the world will be a better palce.
