Question for systems analysts/consultants?

I recently took an entry level job as a business systems analyst. We use a ERP system that is similar in function to SAP, isn't SAP. I plan on staying here for a few years, but I was just looking into similar jobs and noticed most require SAP experience. I was wondering what employers think of someone who has systems experience with ERP that is not SAP, and I was also wondering if there is some kind of training or certification I can get with SAP that would make up for my lack of direct experience. Thanks! :)

It is always better to get yourself associated with a popular and widely used ERP product such as SAP, PeopleSoft or Oracle EBS.
