Johnny Otis passed away at 90.
He also discovered such future stars of R&B and rock as Etta James, Little Richard, Jackie Wilson, Hank Ballard and Little Esther Phillips

I rermember cliff richard doing a version of it and we all sat round the tv learning how to do the hand jive!

Oh, yes. summer of 58, between 5th - 6th grade, me & Chicki Kuhn would dance on her patio doing that OLD HAND JIVE. Up on Lake Erie in Ohio.
