I love everything about it, the rush the second I step on ice. It makes me feel like unstoppable. I love the sound of my blades slicing across the ice, the air hits my faces when I'm skating fast, the feeling I do a jump or a spin, and even when I fall. I know it sounds crazy, you're probably thinking "is she crazy, doesn't falling on ice hurt?" No not really, a majority of the times I fall it doesn't hurt. As insane as it sounds, ice does break your fall. I can't imagine what it would be like to fall on actual hardwood floors. Your blades grip the ice so if you're spinning and you're to far back on your heel, it actually slows down the spin before you fall. Not only that but ice is slippery, you can easily just slide when you're falling so it lesses the impact of falling. Whereas on hardwood floors, you don't have the advantage of gripping the floor as easily. I've tried spinning with my socks and it is the scariest and hardest thing ever. I can slip much more easily than on ice. Anyways, sorry about the little lecture. But I fall, although it is frustrating its also encouraging if that makes sense... I feel like I have to push my self more and much more accomplished because its just one step closer to perfecting a skill or getting the skill down.
