Anybody has tips on flying to Nepal?

Does anybody here have first hand experience with traveling to Nepal. I'm trying to book a flight for October from Seattle to Kathmandu and would appreciate any comments on which airlines worked well for you or which you might have had problems with.

Also any tips on how to find reasonably priced tickets would be greatly appreciated. I already looked at Kayak, Hipmunk, Priceline, Orbitz and Expedia, but perhaps there is another good site I am not aware of.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Flights to Nepal are very expensive from most countries. Try flying into India and looking for a cheap flight from there.

In the past, I have flown with Royal Nepal Airlines. I was not able to get a direct flight (I don't think they have planes capable of that), so I connected in India. They weren't anything amazing, but they got me from point A to point B. I don't know if I would fly with them again. Here's some information about them:

If Qatar airways does flights to Kathmandu, I would definitely look into that route. They have an excellent reputation. There are several Indian airlines that fly there, also.

Qatar airways flies to Kathmandu. Their service is great, and their prices are competitive. They don't fly from Seattle though, but I am sure you would be able to connect in JFK.

If you're not a nervous flier, maybe take a trip to Lukla... most probably the most dangerous airport in the world! Nepal is a beautiful country! I am sure you will have the time of your life!
