nitrogen fixation is the process in which nitrogen fixing bacteria uses nitrogen in its metabolic processes and converts the free nitrogen into ammonia. This process is very important as most of the organism on earth cannot utilize the free nitrogen in the air to create proteins. Thus, this process turns nitrogen into a usable form for any organisms to use.
