Jailbreak Iphone 4 for U.S. Cellular?

I had the brand new Motorola Electrify, but unfortunately after about 4 months of having the phone, it was stolen. My options were to either go back to my old phone, or pay a ridiculous price to buy a new phone. Well, my friend got the brand new Iphone 4s, and is giving me his Iphone 4 to see if I can jailbreak it and use it with U.S. Cellular. Before I go through all this trouble, is it even possible? Will it even work? Please help...

first, if the phone is GSM (meaning, it uses sim cards) it will not work on the us cellular network (which is CDMA). so if it came from AT&T, your out of luck. second, us cellular has a pretty strict policy of not activating phones NOT purchased from them or one of their agents. so even if it was a Sprint iphone, again you are out of luck.

you may want to try ebay or craig's list - just make sure that the phone is from us cellular. also, many corporate us cellular locations have used phones available for purchase at between 25-50% off the full retail price.

this is why they sell the insurance, people.

You actually might not have to jailbreak at all! It all depends on the modem firmware the iPhone 4 is on. If the iPhone 4 has been updated to iOS 5 it might not be possible, however there is a little micro chip you can put which will unlock your phone on ALL CARRIERS! It's called the GEVEY SIM CARD. I will provide a link below with the tutorial and ORIGINAL Site where you may buy it from. It will give you all the info in the site. Hope i helped :)

You can indeed amigo - you need to do some research and find out what baseband is on the device and what firmware it is also. Go spend some quality time with Google and look up Ultrasn0w (it's a zero not an O) and also look into Redsn0w (http://www.redsn0w.com)/ - between the 2 you'll be good to go and have a super bad toy!

I had cell phone insurance from US Cellular, and when my old Krazer screen went blank (phone still worked) I took it in to repair (To a major US Cell. store, and where i purchased the phone) I was told they could fix it, but it would need to be sent in, as they couldn't repair the flex cord inside the phone that connected the screen to the keyboard. I said ok, I have insurance, well then they gave me a card to fill out and send in for a replacement phone, which would take 2 weeks, OH and they wouldn't allow me a "loaner" phone during this period. I said screw it, and borrowed a phone from a buddy, as my contract was 2 months from expiring. Cell Phone Insurance TO ME is a waste of money, I may have kept insurance, had it not been for all hoops I had to jump through.
