What I found working in retail, is to speak to the manager of the store/restaurant asking them for any vacancies, give in your CV, and hope for the best. Or alternatively, you can apply online. However, it is better to see the manager face to face, first impressions are crucial. It sounds like you have the experience so just remain positive and be proactive. Ring around restaurants, ask to meet with the manager and you will get a job in no time!

    Best of luck!

Because the majority of people working those jobs are not teenagers, but people with no skills using it as a career to support a family. But all you can do is try to make your chances better. It is ALWAYS better to apply in person, and try to return your application directly to the manager. After you have applied, wait a week, maybe a week and a half, and then do job follow ups. Call and ask to speak to the manager and say "Hi, my name is ____, I submitted an application to your restaurant a week ago, and I was wondering if you've had a chance to review it, and if you are in fact hiring at this time." If they say yes, they are hiring, then ask for a time that would be convenient for them to meet with you, and if they aren't hiring, then say thank you, and that you hope they will consider you in the future if they have any openings. Your job is mostly going to be dealing with the customers and "cooking" the food, but you will also have to do a lot of cleaning. From my experience, those types of jobs are 30% customer service and 70% cleaning and maintenance. And you must have LOTS of patience, both to deal with the customers and your coworkers, as both can be very difficult to please and rude. Good luck with your job search, and I hope I helped!

Well, first you need to call all of the places you applied and then you say....Hi my name is _____ and I have applied for the job ____ I was wondering if you have had time to review my application? You may also want to apply somewhere you have a friend working and have them be your reference that may go a long way. Good Luck The worst part is you come home and smell like the fryer, other than that it's not bad at all. I worked at Mickey D's and Wendy's when I was in high school.

you should look around and try to find somewhere that isn't fast food, like a grocery store. or get someone fired, that could work too
