Well I think the answer is that happily married people are better off than single people. The thing is that people assume that all single people are out there constantly wishing they were married and spend most of their time looking for someone. It is up to the individual. There are many happy single folks and lots of happily married people too. On Yahoo Answers you usually on here from the upset, hurt, frustrated, or unhappy parts of a marriage.
Being single gives you some freedom and fewer obligations... but a good marriage brings you warmth, love, stability, and hopefully affection.

Depends on how you define "better off," but yes, in general, married people are happier, healthier, and financially more stable than single people. Children of married people also fare better as a whole (unless the parents have a very poor relationship).
However, there is some evidence suggesting that in some ways, single women are happier than married women. It's been observed time and time again that married men are happier, healthier, live longer, and do less housework than single men. Married women are also healthier and live longer, but the effect isn't as pronounced, and because housework and childcare tends to get dumped on women, the added stress and strain affects their happiness level. The hardest time for a woman is when she has a 2-3 year old child.

No, to my opinion, alot of marriages not all, have a stressful enviroment, and have chaos also. Some marriages are better than being single. But than again no one is perfect single or married. I still say no

It works both ways.
If they are "happily married" and it's tax time...yes. If they have one or more children and need to share the expenses and care...yes. If they don't want the neighbors talking, don't want to be alone, or risk doing everything ALONE, ...yes.
They could be "better off" SINGLE, If they are "foot loose and fancy free". Hard to get along with, don't like kids, can take it or leave it , want their own space, and like "playing the field".
These lists are but a beginning, but I hope it helps. Good luck. Peace.

If they have children yes because that's the trouble with many cultures in the world today, there are too many single people with children that are really little BASTARDS.

It depends. Some individuals are happy just with what they have. Some people need someone else or want another person in their life so they can share it together. :)
