my dog keeps licking his genitals and it looks really sore?

after he got a haircut, my dog bailey started licking the head of his man-part, and after about a day he started licking more frequently and it looks really really sore and has several scabs on it. He is just about one year old and now occasionally he yelps with pain if you prevent him from licking it. help!!!

I would take him to a vet asap!

You don't say what breed but it could be razor rash brought on by cutting too close by the groomer.

Obviously the more he licks the worse it will be. Try a buster collar and put some soothing cream on the rash to help soothe the skin until the rash has cleared.

The mouth is the dirtiest part of the body. However, due to this fact, there are more anti bodies in the mouth to heal wounds and infection than anywhere else. The dog should be left to continue this healing process until you seek medical advice.

You need to sees vet, the groomer probably nicked his privates, and he is in a lot of pain!!!
