HOw come some websites won't work on IE or Google Chrome?

Like Amazon, IMDB, or Lipstick Alley. Everytime I go to the pages, only a part of the website shows. And I have to keep refreshing the page like 50 times to work. I always delete the cookies, temporary files everyday. I don't understand why those websites are not working.

All I can tell you is that I have noted differences in some browsers- for instance - some aspects of Ebay's REVIEWS and GUIDES editing section only work in IE and others only in Chrome. I have never noticed any problems with IMDB or Amazon - but then I am not a subscriber - only a user of the former - and as a user I rarely go to Amazon.
