Contact your Pampered Chef Rep and get them to replace it for you. PC has a fantastic return/replacement policy.

Honestly, I have only bought a few things from pampered chef and was quite disappointed in my purchases.

Garlic press - cheap and fell apart after a few uses. $20

Pie crust protector - works OK but cost almost $30, I could use foil or something from the dollar store.

Splash guard - worked OK but heavier than it needed to be with a big hinge in the middle

I am an avid accomplished home cook and stay true to my 'gadgets'. I think PC appeals to those who are insecure with their skills and are willing to buy mixes and expensive tools to make themselves feel more confident in their skills.

I would recommend buying a real cook press - on ebay or a Swedish store.
