    Not quite. The Internet Movie Database offers a great deal of information on a movie's characters, production, and sales. WorldCat offers information on every book with an ISBN, but not information on the specific characters in the book. It will have a summary, information on the size and page numbers, and authorship. It also has information on every library with the book. WorldCat can be accessed at

    There are websites with people's opinions on books (forums) but they do not contain every book as apposed to IMDB which contains every movie. Wikipedia can sometimes be a good resource for the characters and plots of more popular or noteworthy books.
