What does it mean by "blowing hot air" in this sentence?

I am a student learning English.

While reading "Dear Abby", I came across this sentence.

If, after that, you can find the strength to assert yourself, perhaps Derek will consider an attitude adjustment and stop blowing hot air.

I guessed that blowing hot air meant to be upset.

However, a dictionary says something different.

Would you give some examples using that expression?

"blowing hot air" means to say something that's clearly not true or obviously incorrect.

"He was blowing hot air when he said that the Colts are the best team in the NFL."

Your words are empty, because all that's coming out of your mouth is hot air.

She is hot = the word hot is use to describe the girl. Hot meaning she's attractive, sexy and intelligent. For instance, you are shopping and then you saw this gorgeous girl wearing a pretty black gucci dress. Then you tell your friend, Damn, that girl is HOT!!! Sorry, not trying to be a sexist.

'Blowing hot air' doesn't suggest being upset. It suggests conveying no valuable content, by lying or boasting excessively.

She's sexy. She's stolen goods (no kidding- I knew a girl once who was described that way!). She's phyically so. It depends on what context she's described in.
