Hi Jason, now this is a question which would require a lot of thought being put into the answer. Buying an air compressor is an extremely wise decision that you have taken there. The amount of gas you save with an air compressor is definitely a very sound financial step. Now, I have been using an air compressor for some time now to facilitate a power tool that I use and I have friends who use them as well.
But, before zeroing in on a compressor, you may want to narrow down the answer to some of these questions:
What is the purpose for which you’re buying an air compressor? This would not only determine the size of the compressor but also, the make, model and type.
How much air do you actually need? Again, you will have to choose an appropriate cfm producing compressor
How much space do you have? Since you want one for your garage and it would most probably be for home projects etc., a good quality piston or rotary screw compressor which is not too big should work just fine.
In terms of brands, I’d definitely suggest buying from Eaton Compressors & Fabrication to ensure a good deal and a great product range to choose from.
