Gaming Mice have a much higher DPI, basically it can detect extremely finer movement compared to a normal mouse. Also the mouse software updates much faster so having a better response time.

You also usually get some more featured buttons which you can add custom mapping too.

But unless you really want to spend $100 for a good gaming mouse. Youll be reasonably good just the same with a $20 one. Unless your a Pro playing for money.

Gaming mice are just names given to higher quality mice to appeal to a wider audience. They are actually built alot sturdier and last quiet longer then your average mouse. Along with programable buttons, stylish looks, custom leds. weight adjustments, "gaming" mice are alot better then the normal mice and isnt always used for gaming. Some features like on the fly dpi changing can help people that have large monitors to artists that need more precision on photoshop, or gamers. These mice are built for people who use pcs more then 8+ hours a day, ergonomic design and non slip grips on these mice can be used for "hardcore" gaming but can be equally comfortable for the average user.

Also not all gaming mice are above $100.

    Depends on your eye-hand coordination.

Gaming mouse has a few extra programmable buttons and is built a bit better.
