Personally i dont use the rpm to know when to shift, i jus go by the rev of my engine.. Not to high where it will rev-line and not too low where if you shift it feelz lazy.

First you don't switch gears, instead "shift" gears. It's the right thing to do.

Shift gears when you feel the car begin to stop pulling or accelerating. You'll get the feel of it after a while.

When the Rpm gets to like a 5 or 6, or when you hear the engine rev up loud.
