Many consider Mexico City to be one gigantic sprawling slum with a few nice areas. The non slum areas are called Lomas de Chapultepec, Bosques de las Lomas, Colonia Roma (slummy areas),Colonia Condesa, Polanco, San Angel Inn, Pedregal de San Angel, Colonia Cuauhtémoc (some slummy areas), Colonia Juárez, Colonia San Rafel (has some slummy areas), Colonia Navarte, Tlalpan and Linda Vista. There are other delegations which are part of the Distrito federal, but not part of Mexico City proper, which are not slums.
The most famous bad neighborhoods are Tepito and Colonia Guerrero. Tacubaya, Pino Suárez, Acueducto and Molino de Santo Domingo are other depressing to look at and dagerous to be places. There are hundreds more.Source(s): I live here
