Decoration ideas for a green and white bedroom?
I'm planning on redoing my bedroom this summer in a green and white, with black accents. I want my room to be very crisp, and a little old fashioned looking (40s/50s look). I'm planning on using a polka dot print at least a little bit. Any suggestions for decoration ideas? (pictures, lamp shades, books to display, comforters/quilts... anything!) I'd appreciate links/pictures if you can. Thanks!

It depends on what shade of green your looking into but I know I have picked up some nice decorations from here http://www.homeseasons.com/

This is a pretty good source for basic 1950's decorating. I remember that the flower patterns weren't little bitty dimity kind of prints but huge tropical flowers. Chenille bedspreads were big too, rather than old fashioned quilts, etc. And cafe curtains were very popular, especially paired with those ruffly curtains that tied off to the sides. It was easy chairs in bedrooms rather than more primitive looking things like rockers. And my butt remembers that some of the popular upholstery fabric was a raised pattern (I swear in those "time outs" that fabric left permanent patterns in my legs and butt cheeks) - and with 7 siblings in the 50's there was a lot of plastic covering on furniture - but I think that may have been more of a safety measure. Anyway, check out this site. I think you'll find it helpful. http://www.retroplanet.com/blog/retro-design/retro...

that's extremely common. what's your favourite colour? you in ordinary terms want 2 or in keeping with danger 3 colours to get each little thing going. take your favourite colour and use it to your bedspread and curtains alongside with a rug on the floor. discover an comparable colour out of your favourite colour and use it for photos putting on the wall. contain all the colours mutually and this can be the colour to your sheets. there are various ideas for nightstands and tables you need to use glass or you ought to hide them with matching colours out of your mattress. your lampshades might desire to be white or you ought to blend and journey. take time and this project will pop out on your delight you would be so pleased with your self in the top. sturdy luck.

Sounds nice. I'm not sure what shade of green you are set on, but I'm thinking a lime green would look crisp like you want. . Start with bedding that you love and add accent pieces slowly. You don't want everything to look matchy-matchy because that is so boring. Mix it up! See if anything here inspires you:
If you use a black and white comforter you can always change the accent pillows and sheets to a color besides green and get a whole new look.
