A problem at a time...

-5(5x - y = 5)

3x - 5y = -63

-25x + 5y = -25

3x - 5y = -63

-22x = -88

x = 4

Hence...

20 - y = 5

y = 15

The solution is (4,15) in terms of (x,y)

Put one of the equations in terms of a single variable. We will use the first equation....

5x-y=5

5x=5+y

y=5x-5

Substitute this equation into the second one, with y being 5x-5.

3x-5(5x-5)=-63

3x-25x+25 = -63

-22x+25=-63

-22x=-88

x=4

Now that you know what x is, plug in this value to the first or second equation to find the y value...

5(4)-y=5

20-y=5

y=15

x=4

y=15

Check if second equation fits...

3(4)-5(15)=-63

12-75=-63

Correct.
