Hawks and Hornets deal?

Hawks receive: Chris Paul, Emeka Okafor, Jarett Jack and Willie Green

Hornets receive: Josh Smith, Jamal Crawford, Kirk Hinrich, Jeff Teague and two(2) future 1st-rd picks from Atlanta

Hawks become real contenders with CP3 while Hornets get a good package in exchange for their franchise player.

Hawks 2011-2012

PG Chris Paul / Jarett Jack / Marcus Banks

SG Joe Johnson / Willie Green /Damien Wilkins

SF Marvin Williams / Pape Sy

PF Al Horford / Josh Powell

C Emeka Okafor / Zaza Pachulia / Keith Benson

Hornets 2011-2012

PG Jeff Teague / Kirk Hinrich

SG Jamal Crawfod / Marco Belinelli

SF Trevor Arza / Quicy Pondexter

PF David West (if he re-signs) / Jason Smith

C Aaron Gray / David Andersen / DJ Mbenga(If he-resigns)

It seems as if New Orleans is getting a raw-deal. Why would they agree to this? While I realize Cp3 is in his last year of his contract, I'm sure the Hornets can get more in return.

The two 1st-round picks are not valuable because the trade will make the Hawks, as you mentioned, contenders. Therefore, it'll likely be mid to late 1st rounders.

    What up LeBrong,

The key to the deal are the two first rounders- as losing your franchise player usually requires a team to go into re-building mode. Smith, Crawford and Hinrich and Teague are all good players but none of them are franchise players.

Atlanta is already a regular playoff team and adding CP3 will improve them (and Okafor and Jack are nothing to scoff at either) but that would make the draft picks much less valuable than they appear on paper.
