Hawks become real contenders with CP3 while Hornets get a good package in exchange for their franchise player.

It seems as if New Orleans is getting a raw-deal. Why would they agree to this? While I realize Cp3 is in his last year of his contract, I'm sure the Hornets can get more in return.
The two 1st-round picks are not valuable because the trade will make the Hawks, as you mentioned, contenders. Therefore, it'll likely be mid to late 1st rounders.

The key to the deal are the two first rounders- as losing your franchise player usually requires a team to go into re-building mode. Smith, Crawford and Hinrich and Teague are all good players but none of them are franchise players.
Atlanta is already a regular playoff team and adding CP3 will improve them (and Okafor and Jack are nothing to scoff at either) but that would make the draft picks much less valuable than they appear on paper.
