Best U.S. universities out of the following?

I am a journalism student applying for international exchange to a US university. Here are my options:

University of North Carolina at Asheville

University of Texas at Austin

Boone: Appalachian State University

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

University of North Carolina at Charlotte

Coral Gables: University of Miami

Cullowhee: Western Carolina University

Durham: North Carolina Central University

University of Texas at El Paso

Greensboro: North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University

Greensboro: University of North Carolina at Greensboro

Greenville: East Carolina University

Honolulu: University of Hawaii at Manoa

State University of New York at New Paltz

New York City: Pace University

Potsdam: Clarkson University

Raleigh: North Carolina State University

Sacramento: California State University, Sacramento

San Diego State University

San Francisco: San Francisco State University

Tucson: University of Arizona

University of North Carolina at Wilmington

I need to put in FIVE preferences. I'd like a uni with a solid reputation, a good location for media outlets and a nice place to spend my 1/2 year on exchange. And of course, I'd love the opinion of people actually living in America.

Thanks so much! :)

The perfect college is not based on a set of data or any statistics, but rather on the environment in which you will study. The world class college won't do you any good if their style does not suit you.
