The Seven Heavenly Virtues which were listed by St. Thomas Aquinas, are the exact opposites of the Seven Deadly Vices which were listed by Pope St. Gregory the Great. They formulated the Virtues and Vices according to Scripture. Virtues are what brings you closer to God, while the Vices are what separates you from God.

    Virtue - Vice

    Chastity - Lust

    Temperance - Gluttony

    Charity - Greed

    Diligence - Sloth

    Patience - Wrath

    Kindness - Envy

    Humility - Pride

There are also the seven virtues of the Catholic Church, also listed by St. Thomas Aquinas.

    Four Cardinal Virtues:

    Temperance

    Justice

    Fortitude

    Prudence

    Three Theological Virtues:

    Faith

    Hope

    Love (Charity)
