This is a great opportunity to practice the ultimate goal of Yoga. Controlling the thought waves of your mind so that you may abide in yourtrue essence.
When I first saw these exercises, my mind said there is no way I can do all this, luckily, I was told I could progress at my own pace. So, I was happy to do as much as I could for now and totally determined to improve gradually.
The most challenging for me were the leg raises, I was convinced that I could not do seven repetitions. and as expected my legs just would not go up for the eighth one. I just thought myself that I could get up to twenty one reps in three or four weeks by adding one rep everyday or two. after one week I was very proud to be up to twelve reps. then one morning, I was absent minded as I did the leg raises, and suddenly, I hear myself counting twenty three, twenty four, twenty five, and I could have kept going for a while.
I was not my abdominals have gotten super strong overnight. I just forgot to think that I could do more than twelve or thirteen. Wow!!! From that day on I learned to not get too serious about the limits my mind tried to impose on me.
