The Holocaust

The Holocaust was one of the twentieth century's greatest tragedy that left a mark of tragic and horror to all Jews. The tragedy began at January 30th, 1933 and ended at May 8th, 1945, when the war in Europe ended. Millions of people died during the Holocaust, some were killed by machine guns, gas chambers, getting burned, while others died due to starvation, abuse and diseases. Adolf Hitler, the leader of Nazi Germany, was a heartless and uncaring man. He was born on April 20, 1889 in a small Austrian town of Braunau near Germany’s border. Hitler’s father Alios Hitler was a short-tempered, strict and brutal father. It is known that Alios would always beat Hitler when he was young. Hitler’s mother, Klara Hitler, was the opposite of Alios Hitler. She was very caring and loving to her son.

When Hitler’s father died, Hitler dropped out of school at an early age because he lost his strong influence into keeping him at school. His mother supported him with this idea. Hitler loved and showed so much companionship to his mother more than his father. When she died at 1907, her death affected him far more deeply than the death of his father. He carried her picture wherever he went and, it is claimed that he had the photo in his hand when he died in 1945.

Hitler and the Nazis were the masterminds of the Holocaust. Hitler had so much arrogance in him. He hated and envied the Jews. The Jews at that time were successful; there were scholars, scientists and doctors as Jews. He described them as evil and cowardly, and Germans as hardworking, courageous, and honest. He blamed the Jews for Germany’s defeat in World War 1. He brainwashed the Germans into hating them. He believed that the German race was better than any other race and that Germans deserve to live. Blonde hair and blue eyes was also the master race to Hitler, even though he had dark hair and dark eyes.

Hitler wanted to kill off all the “imperfect” people, who were non-Germanic. Some of the victims were the Jews, Gypsies, and people with physical and mental disabilities, homosexuals and Jehovah’s Witnesses. These victims were selected simply because they were disliked by Hitler and the other Germans. German Jews weren’t allowed to go to theaters, swimming pools, and resorts. They were forced to wear a Star of David badge everywhere they went, to indicate that they

On the night of November 9, 1938, gangs of Nazi officers barged on the streets of Germany and attacked the Jews. Thousands of synagogues, Jewish businesses and homes were destroyed. Many Jews were tortured, sent to concentration camps and many were killed. This event came to be called Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass because of the shattered store windowpanes that covered Germany’s streets. The cause for this violence was the November 7 assassination of Ernst Vom Rath, the Third Secretary of the German Embassy in Paris, by a Jewish boy named Herschel Grynszpan. Kristallnacht lasted till November 10, 1938. This was the beginning of the Holocaust.

All Jews, Gypsies, and many others were taking to the concentration camps. Men and women were separated. The doctors of Auschwitz, which was the largest extermination camps, separated the strong, who were mostly men, from the weak, who were the women, children, the sick and the elderly. The weak were sent to a gas chamber. Deadly gases, like Zyklon B poured from the holes in the ceiling, which killed everyone in a matter of minutes. This is what Hitler called the “Final Solution.” The allies, who were the American, Soviet, British and other armies, drove into Germany defeated and occupied the Nazis and took control of the country. They liberated the camps, one by one, from July 1944 onwards. Most of the victims were already dead and few had survived the Holocaust. Hitler hid in his bunker in Berlin and committed suicide with his wife. Hitler and his Nazi troops killed a total of 11 million people; six million of them were Jews. Jews were the main victims in the Holocaust.

The chances of surviving the war were extremely small. The people that did survive and are witnesses of the Holocaust were left with memories of horror. The stories they told reminded us of how terrible humans can act when they think people who are different from them are not necessary or special in life. Hiding from the Nazis was always a struggle. The people that hid lived in terror of being found by the Nazis, but they were eventually found. The consequences of being found from hiding, as well as the people hiding them were often death or a severe punishment.

it depends what kind of essay your trying to write. There is different kinds of essays. This essay is good, if its "just an essay." I had to write specific diff types of them. theres some opinions in this essay. but most are facts. What you should do is re write your intro and conclusion. It sounds like neither are there.

Start off with something like this (ill just make this up as i go) : A war had a huge inpact on history and society, which makes us who we are today. This war created terror and tyranny spread throughout the world. One event called the "Holocaust" was caused by the absolute ruler Adolf Hitler. He is or was the main factor of this war that needed to be stopped.

Ehh that wasnt a good intro of course id have to think about it but i think u get my point. U have to introduce the issue and what your trying to say. Like say stuff like " a war occurred on this day and made a huge impact on history." U cant just jump into the topic, just like how u start off a story when you tell ur friends u wont just jump into the climax u have to have a starting point, an intro. I'm the last person to be giving advice on this lol because I hate school but my teachers said I was still a good writer lol. And i wasnt that smart either LOL. Sorry for making this long, usually id tell it simple to u but im not sure u knew what i would mean. Good luck!

It defiantly has enough info! It's a great essay but you should read it over and look for repetitive words (tragic, tragedy at the beginning) and replace them with different words. Try So maybe change the second tragedy to "this terrible event" or something. This way its less repetitive.
