    Let the Bananas be x, Apples be y and Oranges be z.

    The question is:

    2x = 3y

    5y = 6z

    9z = ?x

    Solution:

    x = 3y/2 and y = 6z/5

    Hence, x = 3(6z/5)/2

    x = 18z/10 i.e. 9z/5

    Substituting this in the last equation,

    9z = ? x 9z/5

    The answer is 5.

    Let

    Bananas' mass be B

    Apples' mass be A

    Oranges' mass be O

    6O = 5A

    1O = (5/6) A

    9O = (5/6) x 9 A = 7.5A

    3A = 2B

    7.5A = (2/3) x 7.5 B = 5B

    5 bananas weigh the same as 9 oranges. :)

    It uses a bit of proportionality here.

    Hope this helps.

    2b = 3a 5a = 6o Times the first one by5 and the second one by 3 so the number of apples

    is the same

    10b = 15a 15a = 18o

    It is now clear that 10b = 18o

    Divide by 2 to get 5b = 9o

    2B=3A

    5A=6O

    so 7.5A=9O

    7.5/3 * 2 = 5 bananas
