How come my processor says 642mhz instead of 3.3ghz?

I just unlocked 2 cores of my Phenom II X2 560 B.E. and then checked the system properties and this showed up.

Is it really 642mhz?

The processor should say 3.3ghz.

is there any load? if you do not run some program to load it, cpu will switch down clock to save power (check power management). if you are checking clokc by program like CPUZ, open some new window (as window, not full screen) then drag it around and watch the clock reading.

Check the processor multiplier in your CMOS settings.
