what if my printer is taking a long time to print the calibration page?

Depends on the model. On some color laser printers all it takes is just one of the toner cartridges out of the four (black, yellow, cyan, magenta) to be defective, which will delay the calibration. In this case the way to tell is to look at the colors printed. If there are horizontal lines or distortions in the printout in any of the specific four colors mentioned then that delays proper calibration. In that case replace that specific toner cartridge(s). Usually it is just one cartridge. In some cases, after market cartridges can contribute to there being two or more defective cartridges at a time.
