What is the safest job to have in the case of another great depression or hyperinflation?

Government related. DoD, miltary, congress, stuff like that.

There is no good job to have in case of hyperinflation. Hyperinflation makes essentially everyone poor. In case of a depression, jobs in essential services are good to be in - police for example, health services, etc.

Go for something that will always be wanted.

So things like doctor / nurses / health care workers, teachers, tradies (electricians, plumbers)... They're not totally recession-proof but tend to do better as we're needing them more than "purse carrier" or "peanut butter taste tester" or something....
