Not even close. For one, they're differently fluid based...two, the only thing they have incommon is cooling metal components, but then again, everything in your vehicle does that, even engine oil and fuel act as coolant for certain components. Also, coolant eats through bearings, deffinetly shouldn't be put into transmission...what a lot of people do compare automatic transmission fluid to is detergent...the one you wash your clothes with...not saying that it should be used though lol
EDIT: to thebax2006...who the fk are YOU to tell someone whether thery're mechanically inclined or not? Seriously! Just because someone might not know and simply ask bout different fluids doesn't mean they're not mechanically inclined, it just means they don't know the answer to the question they're asking...just because you say you're a tech at some dealership gives you no right to speak like that to someone! If I knew nothing bout cars, I'd never take my car to you...because I'd know you wouldn't be able to explain something simple to me as a customer without being an a**hole!
