Treaty of Versailles had cut Germany in several pieces and gifted to other nations. these several parts wanted to reunite with home and Saar,Rhneland and Austria had already reunited without a single shot being fired.

March 14th 1939 ; Czech president Emil Hacha accepts Adolf Hitler offer of making Bohemia-Moravia a German protectorate. That same day Slovakia and Ruthenia declare their independence from the Czech government in Prague. Poles invade and occupy Olsa region. Hungarians do the same occupying border regions populated by Hungarians. if Hitler had desire for world domination then Hitler would have taken over these regions of Slovakia, Ruthenia, Olsa. But Hitler had no such desires. he wanted people to have freedom to choose their own destiny. Hitler makes no attempt to take over regions of Slovakia, Ruthenia, region taken over by Poland and Hungary as this was done in accordance with the wishes of the people of these regions. Czechoslovakia a new country which was created by pieces of Germany and Austria ceases to exist. No shot was fired.

Because they lost that territory after WWI and it wasn't really very fair , the German people were still angry and affected by losses of territory like this one and by the other rather unfair clauses they had to agree with as part of the Versailles Treaty. There were many Germans still living in the Sudetenland and Hitler used this as a reason to claim this part of Czechoslovakia as his. He did want to bring all the germanic people together ,this was one of his real goals but the move was also one meant to disguise his greater plans , a justification to the German people and the foreign powers .

Because the population had been forcibly separated from the rest of Germany, and he would have lost credibility with all the Nationalist groups in Germany and with the military if he had done nothing.

He just wanted the world to know that Germany was "returning" to power and he wanted to build his empire, the Third Reich
