What a nice question! I love oldies, too. You might want to get a listen to Darlene Love singing "Today I Met The Boy I'm Going To Marry" and "Why Do Lovers Break Each Others Hearts". Or "In The Still Of The Night", "Earth Angel", "Over The Mountain, Across The Sea", all doo wop classics from the '50's.

Disc jockey Alan Freed created the term "rock 'n roll" on his show on WJW in Cleveland in 1952, the story is he played "Gee" by the Crows and commented that "that song really rocked and rolled" and the term caught on.

Of course there's also Elvis Presley (my favorite- "Hound Dog", it does rock!). Chuck Berry "Johnny B. Goode", the Monotones "Book of Love", Richie Valens a true genius who died in a plane crash with The Big Bopper and Buddy Holly, performed "Oh Donna" and "Lets Go".

I could go on for hours, you have brought back some very pleasant memories. Enjoy!! Aloha
